Thanks, Jeff,

I ran the PowerShell app and it confirmed it safe. I can’t find my (Win10) digital signature results since a couple days ago when MS installed an update. I’m not a guru anymore so I may have had a drop in my octogenarian brain capacity since a week ago, but I know for sure that when I did the taskmanager process back then, it showed a blank in the digital signature field.

Here are the answers from PowerShell:

Unfortunately…. I think quite possibly yes. :)

Perhaps it was an Android phone being used to charge an iPhone..? Either way, as it stands today, only the iPhone 15 with its USB-C port can be used to charge other devices. I have the iPhone 15 Pro and it’s been great. With its cable, I can use it as a great charging brick. Very handy when you’re in a tight pinch!

I don’t remember if I enabled some function beforehand or we just put them on top of each other and I started charging the other iPhone. What’s more I remember this being a thing I knew that iPhones do back then. My bf said he has seen this as well :D is this a Mandela thing effect?

Hi Ralph,

The biggest concern would be if you had real-time protection enabled in both. That would use up system resources and slow your computer down. Since MalwareBytes is typically used as-needed, you’re probably fine.

Thanks for reading!

The fact that they’re spoofing Apple’s customer support number is the real gotcha here. Remember: Apple will never call you out of the blue for a password issue, just like your bank won’t.

Just goes to show — don’t trust anyone who calls you. Hang up and call them back after validating the callback number. Just one takeaway.

There doesn’t appear to be a fix for this yet. Keep us updated on that.

I had an Atari 2600, but not the 400/800. At school, though, we had a couple of Atari 800s that I got to play around with and start developing my love for all things computers :-)

And yes, Sears…that Christmas catalog was one of our favorite things growing up. My brother and sisters and I would spend hours poring over that thing!

I have no idea if it was the 400 or the 800, but it was probably the less expensive of the two.

I remember riding my bike every day to our local Sears to check if the game Defender had arrived.

The crazy part is, I have no idea why my parents bought that first Atari for us kids. They both hated video games. Anyway, grat memories.

Hey Ron,

It’s very unusual for that file not to have a digital signature at all. Let’s try to figure out what might be happening.

Could you run this command in PowerShell and let us know the output?

Get-AuthenticodeSignature -FilePath C:\Windows\System32\AggregatorHost.exe | Format-List

Thanks!

I opened system monitor end tast and rebooted the pc, i tried again and i select open roblox with wine, again butthis time the install completed but did nothing, it was like a silent failure, it just did not give me additional options and no roblox play appeared on the desktop. I am running linux mint version 21. any ideas thank you.

Comment on What is AggregatorHost.exe and Why is it Running? by More Ron https://www.groovypost.com/howto/aggregatorhost-exe-why-running/#comment-1259393 Sun, 24 Mar 2024 21:06:31 +0000 https://www.groovypost.com/?p=248678#comment-1259393 The above threads mentions the need for it to have “…the correct digital signature.” Mine does NOT have a digital signature from MS or anyone else. ZERO. So the answers to the plea for “what is it about?, needs to include “If it does NOT have a digital signature at all*, what should I do abut it?” *I used Task Manager route to “C:\Windows\System32” directory, and have not had problems except for strange activities I’ve not seen before, but sure would like to see what the experts are thinking on exactly [precisely] giving me advice on what to do to ensure it isn’t a Malware Trojan Horse (I’ve used various anti-malware and firewall apps with no findings at all).

So please tell us if you have a step-by-step way to determine and then execute the non-digital signed program if it is not legit.

I am using Win10 in a perfectly good Dell XPS only because Microsoft designed my hardware out.

Sorry if this comes over as sarcastic comments = it is not intended, but expresses my so-far four-hour diving into the weeds search with nothing but bushes to whack again. Bless you all for trying to help.
